FAQs

  • How far in advance do I need to book with youThat all depends on you – we recommend anywhere from 6-12 months beforehand. You may want to use your engagement session photographs for your engagement announcement, or for your save-the-dates. You may want to ask us to shoot your engagement party for you, etc. The farther in advance, the better for you! Having said that – don’t hesitate to email us and ask if we have your date available, no matter what your timeline!

  • If my wedding site is out of your area, do you charge a travel fee and what does that cover? Any distance more than 70 miles from the 01566 zip code will incur a $0.50/mile fee, as well as possible hotel accommodations. We’ll have a chance to discuss all of this prior to you making your decision to hire us, or not to hire us! Should you want us to fly to your location or to a destination wedding, you would be responsible for our standard wedding pricing, as well as airfare to and from your destination wedding; hotel accommodations during our stay; airport transportation to and from the airport on both ends or a rental a car; a per diem each day, multiplied by the number of days per persons/photographers. A per diem is generally allocated for meals, but also covers expenses such as tipping, taxis, parking garages, and other unexpected expenses while traveling. Again, all of this will be discussed, decided upon, and put in writing before we sign that contract and accept your deposit!

  • Will you be posting about our wedding on your social media sites (blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest)? Definitely! We’re proud of our images and we intend to show them off and use them to build up our body of work, keeping our portfolio fresh! We own the copyright on the images we create, and when you sign our contract, you acknowledge that. Obviously, if you have any specific requests, regarding your images, please let us know and we can try to work something out. We never want you to feel uncomfortable or to regret hiring us to photograph you and your loved ones!

  • Will you color correct my images? Yes!

  • Are you LGBT friendly? Ab-so-lutely. If you’re in love and you’re getting married – we’ll be honored to be part of your big day! Anyone who feels otherwise does NOT deserve to photograph your smiling faces!

  • Are you willing to follow a shot list? We definitely want (in writing!) any and all specific photos you’d like us to capture, any groupings, meaningful details, etc. Due to the fast-moving, fluid nature of your wedding day, we don't like to guarantee any specific shots, but we will try our best. We also work hard at documenting your big day in our own unique and spontaneous way – which is why you chose us in the first place!

  • How many other events will you photograph that weekend? None. We only book one wedding per weekend to ensure plenty of focus, energy, REST, enthusiasm, and preparation time - just for you.

  • Do you have references I can call or email? Most definitely – simply ask! You can also check out what other people are saying about us here.

  • Do you have photos of entire weddings that I can see? Yes! If you ask, we can provide the link and password to a complete wedding gallery.

  • Do you shoot digital or film? Will started shooting digital in 2003 and has not looked back since. Digital provides us with 100% control over the image process from capture to final presentation (That's a good thing!).

  • Do you offer traditional wedding albums or packages? We have found that the majority of our clients prefer not to go with the traditional wedding album and instead have the full resolution image files to do with as they see fit. With that in mind, we have simplified our wedding photography pricing to include all full resolution digital images within 90 days of the wedding. We still feel that a tangible product is still a great way to showcase our images, which is why we include an 11x13 press printed Blurb book of selected images. If a more traditional album is what you are looking for, we can certainly recommend some terrific album design and printing services that will work with all budgets.

  • Do you have liability insurance? We are fully insured for those just-in-case scenarios.

  • What type of cameras do you use, and will you have any backups in case something breaks or doesn’t work? We shoot with Canon 6Ds and we bring backups for everything with us –just in case!

  • How many years have you been photographing weddings? Will has been photographing weddings (as well as plenty of portrait and commercial photography) since 2004, and Janet since 2008.

  • Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos? We’re fine with that – but we may need to ask your guests (politely!) to move if they’re blocking our shots. We will also ask that other peoples’ flashes be turned off if we find they’re interfering with ours.

  • Do you provide retouching other corrective services? We will absolutely do in-depth work on your images, if you’d like. Simply contact us for a time/price quote!

  • When will my gallery be available? When will my book be complete? Your gallery will be up and available for viewing/purchasing within 4-6 weeks of your event date. Your disc of high-res images will be in the mail to you within 90 days of your event date. Your book will be completed somewhere between 4-6 months of your event date.

  • Will there be a contract of the services to be provided. If so, can I get a copy? Should you choose us to document your big day, a contract between the couple and the photographers will be signed by all parties, and all parties will receive copies.

  • Should my event last longer than scheduled, will you stay? Is there an extra charge? Definitely (within reason). Additional hours will be billed at $300 per hour.

  • What attire will the photographers wear? All black, comfortable shoes – business casual.

  • Still haven't answered all of your questions? Feel free to contact us with any other questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!
